Promise..... !!!!

Hi

Its a tiring process. Open the blog~>sign in~> and then click on new post ~> give it a Title ~> then set the correct font ~> and finally start writing. For me, this is a herculean task; which is why after sept 13th 2009, i did not write. There were many topics i wanted to write, but i never actually sat down. Many a times i would do till step2 (which is signing in) and then close the browser. The following killed my inertia this time and helped me write this blog :-

1. Paa film got over only at 6. (not in a cinema; but at work )
2. My Cab Driver who drops me did not turn up today.
3. Rain in Bangalore
4. Ayyappadas's Air Condition Venture

I got out thinking that somehow i shall reach home. Called Das to answer to his AC query. Called to his land line as he is in TVM (poor guy should save his balance coz he rarely recharges.) He wasn't there. His dad picked up. He had gone with his Amma to do the "Vishu" shopping. This gave me a thought - "Wah kya setting hai... Employed son comes home for the festival, treats parents with gifts.. Das was showing off". So spoke with his dad for a minute about the AC they were going to purchase. A small debate between LG, Voltas, Godrej and Whirlpool. By this time i had left the office building and was walking in the rain(drizzling). Towards the end of the conversation, he told me something :-

" Lakshman, I am not happy with my son's work. I don't want him to work and bring me money. I have made enough money for my living. I want him to go for higher studies. I could not do it, so it will be great to see him do it."

As usual, i promptly replied that both of us ( i took the liberty to add me also) will definitely do it the very next year. The conversation ended in a Happy Vishu. In the drizzle, i stood and thought for a second. I made a promise then, not to my Paa or his, not to him either, but to myself (i cant remember when was the last time i made a promise to myself, whereas i can remember a thousand false promises i made to others). There will be NO SEASON 5. I hope Das makes this too. Not only Das;on this Dark rainy Vishu eve, i hope all of us :- me Das Rocky Vinu Prem Shiju Baby Tom find our greener Pastures next season. Let all of us reach the place, where we want to be. I stopped half way in the rain, came back to the laptop and wrote this. All the best.
Happy Vishu... :)

ps : I have also decided not to bug ANN more abt AD; reduce the unnecessary Band-gap of 1.23ev with Vinu and last but not the least to work harder...

ENTHU OKKE KANNANAM ; ENTHU OKKE KELKANAM

Hi

Long time no see!!! Very much like many who thought my Expressions were extinct, i too thought the same. But something very interesting came up, which killed my inertia. It compelled me to write this blog. I got this piece of info when i travelled last week from ernakulam to bangalore. i wanted to write this blog the very next morning as soon as i reached bangalore. On Monday morning i thought i would write this in the evening. This went on to Tuesday to Wednesday to Thursday when airtel disconnected our Internet connection. ( not due to non payment of bills, some other technical problem). So today 13th September, before i go back to blore again for another week , i am writing this. I would once again like to thank 2 great ppl who gave me the thread for this blog.

Pl don't presume this to be "nostalgia" or "college revisited". Its not.
I actually wanted to name this blog as Class Aaj Kal( inspired from love aaj kal which is a stupid take on love in the past and present). But more than just a difference in class, this is more about a shock I got when i was travelling, more about my anguish over thinking what if i had been in class now and also more about thanking god almighty that i m not in class now. Yes as you have guessed, i am talking about the first year classes in MEC. Its not because one of my friends is teaching there, but because there has been a paradigm shift in the way classes are conducted.
I am not talking about principal taking attendance of each class including faculty attendance.
A class was narrated to me by two of my co passengers who are from MEC:
"Our Electronics sir came for his first class with a new Sony Laptop in hand. In fact for all his classes he brings his laptop. No other faculty brings laptop to class. He is young and smart, looks younger than us sometimes. He is stylish at the same time strict. He often refers to big names in the industry, talks about his experiences of being a studious student, talks about the projects he has done(don't know whether he talks about project meetings also), give insights on why engineering, shares his knowledge on the different areas of electronics and so on. He never gives us any free time and even requests the next teacher to wait so that he can complete circuit problems. He seems to be very strong in electronics circuit theory. Whenever he gives assignments, he says" Gals, you don't have to write a book and give it to me as assignment, i cant carry sorry correct them. This does not mean that boys can write a single page and submit that as assignment. And if you don't submit the assignment on time, you better not submit it. Boys need not wait for gals to complete the assignment and then start copying." He has given us an assignment on passive devices. He has also warned us about some surprise tests in future. "

After hearing so much I burst out in laughter. I was spellbound. I was just bowled over. First class with laptop, assignments that too on passive devices and surprise tests were more than enuf for me to fall unconscious. I would like to know whether the faculty knows what passive devices are and to know whether he has written any assignment on his own. That is when i said to myself "Enthu okke kannanam, Enthu okke kelkanam"

ps: This is not to insult the efforts of a faculty.

Nomoreme

Blogging was out of my radar for a very long time. when HR was expressing his feelings or AD her proffesional lyf, during coll days, i never knew how this whole system worked. I was actually introduced to this when big D started marketing his blogs. Only then did I actually understand what this is all about. But i never thought i would be writing one. To be true i hated blogs. I hated the whole system of making your friend read something that happened in front of him. I hated when people badly wanted more comments for their blogs. Little did i know that there was a tottally different side to this. I now realiase that its all about "Expressing your thoughts" - expressing your ideas, expressing the way you wanted things to be, expressing something that was close to you. I never thought i would be doing this, i never thought i would be expressing myself here. Today when you look around blogging has become a very powerful tool. From Politicians to filmstars to Journalists to CEOs, everyone writes a blog today for their own reasons. If Shri Advaniji writes having votes in mind, Aamir khan writes to increase his fan following and market value, Amitabh Bachchan writes for the money bigAdda is going to give him and so does Rajdeep Sardesai who is paid well by Raymond for delivering some excellent blogs. Even though these may be the major motivations for them to write, they are able to strongly express themselves. I realise that i had a wrong notion. I reliase that I was thinking different, just the oppositte of what is ideal. I reliase that if i dont start now, i may never start. So i start.

i have often been questioned for the tittle nomore. my email id always had a nomore - nomoreme or nomoreganesh or nomorelakshman. I must admit that nomore is the copyright of someone else. It actually belongs to Shri Ajeet Dubey(who is also a AD) who had his email id has nomoreajeet. i adopted it initially coz i found it captivating. i thought it was interesting or it had some difference in it. but later on i found out that there was a meaning which nomore conveyed. it was no more what you actually thought it was. it was no more the scenario you wanted it to be. Now when i recall, for most of my friends/parents/institution/neighbours/ i was no more the person of their perceptions . i was nomoreganesh or nomorelakshman for what they had thought.

Over the years i would have come accross no more a million times. Both in my professional and personal lyf things are no more the way i thought it would be. I never thought i would loose touch with Jithu, Alex, Manoj, Dev (from skool just to name a few) in my lyf. Today except jithu i hardly have an idea what the others are upto. I have no clue where they are, what their contact numbers, are they working or studying, no idea. i never thought this would happen. In college ; this continued. Friendz -> great Friendz -> nomore Friendz. Reverse has also been true. never talk -> say hi -> say bye also -> finally friendz - nomore avoiding. "nomore" ism is not confined to friendz or personal lyf. I guess my profesional lyf gifted nomore ism to personal lyf.

But there are certain domains where nomore never entered.

FME has always been good to me except for a small fight which can be ignored.

RNKT changed from one zone to another. Constant after that.

ANN & AD oscillated always. ANN always went to exile zones until we had walks across mec . AD oscillated b/w - she should not have done this - gth ---> after all its AD na...

ARN; ABJ; JV - great inspiration. always helpful. cat playground would have been boring without them

All Cat buddies - except me all cleared cutoffs always :)

VSN - always negative ; always avoidable ; - lately started showing great signs of improvements

NVG has been maintaining his stature . Elegant and Introspective.

HR has always kept a low profile. But recently he has started keeping a very high profile. Started venturing into activities which i never thought he would.

Big D - i would like to quote my friend here. Big D would be my best friend in college; my worst enemy in college. he is sure to help you and he is sure to ditch you.

This is about me. The list mentioned above lacks many names. Many names without which the domain is only partially filled. didnot want to make my first blog extra long (aldready guess it is). I hope to write more blogs; however i will always try not to make my blog, a tool to tarnish the image of someone. I would like to conclude this by sharing something I have always believed in. "every relationship follows a sine curve". it has its ups n it has its downs and for this, I would like to quote a statement made by shri Advaniji in parliament (which he quoted from the Bhagavad Gita) during "the 26/11" debate

परस्पर विरोधे वयं पंचाम ते शतं !

अन्यही साकं वयं पचाधिकम शतं !!

PS : Criticisms & comments accepted
